Monet's Gardens at Giverny is somewhere my wife has always wanted to visit, so we recently spent three nights in Giverny village.
If you plan to visit Monet's house and gardens, be aware: tourist coaches arrive very early, so to avoid the crowds, try after 3pm, when the village empties out and you will have a more relaxing experience!).

We also visited the Giverny Museum Of Impressionism, which had a wide range of impressionist art, but only contained a single Monet painting, but was well worth the entry fee.
